Many charter clients assume that the best chefs work only aboard the largest motoryachts. Young Adrian Martin is proof that the assumption is simply not true.
Martin is the chef aboard the 74-foot Privilege sailing catamaran Lady Alliaura. At just 23 years old, Martin managed to earn a prize as a first-time competitor in the recent Antigua Concours de Chefs competition. He prepared food so spectacular that some of the judges couldn’t believe it came from a galley half the size as some megayachts.

“This young chef is one to watch,” Robertson says. “He is offering spectacular food aboard a charter yacht that has a weekly base rate of just $38,000. Often to get food of this caliber, charter clients will see a weekly base rate in the six-figure range.”
Lady Alliaura is also noteworthy because she is based in Saint Maarten all year round. She takes two to eight guests in four cabins—and, unlike on some sailing catamarans, this 2009 build has en suite bathrooms with proper showers in every cabin.

“I also really liked the captain when I spoke with him last month,” Robertson says. “He’s French, but he’s spent 22 years in the Caribbean, so he will know all the best spots for showing charter clients a great time.”

Damrak II is a 70-foot Sunreef that is one of the only luxury power catamarans available for charter worldwide.

Damrak II
“I’m really looking forward to inspecting her next month at the Antigua Charter Yacht Show, in advance of offering her to my clients,” says Yachtstore charter broker Gina Robertson. “The owners just released a new virtual tour that shows Damrak II to be in excellent condition. She has a Jacuzzi on her top deck, lots of fun water toys—she appears to be a great powercat with a lot to offer.”

Damrak II also is currently offering an incentive rate for Caribbean yacht charter during January and February. The regular weekly base rate has been dropped to $42,300, representing a savings of 10 percent compared with the regularly advertised rate for eight guests with three crew.
“And she’s a fast yacht, too,” Robertson says. “Damrak II has a top speed of 27 knots, which means that charter clients spend less time cruising from place to place and more time enjoying the places themselves. She is literally twice as fast as a lot of traditional motoryachts that are available for Caribbean yacht charter this winter.”

The 141-foot Pax Navi Clear Eyes is one of the sailing yachts that Yachtstore charter broker Gina Robertson is most looking forward to inspecting at the Antigua Charter Yacht Show in early December.
“She is a 2010 build that appears to be in great condition, and that is getting ready for a world cruise that will allow for some really interesting charter destinations,” Robertson says. “The owners are planning a 19-month itinerary that will give clients a chance to charter in Panama, the Galapagos Islands, Fiji, Tonga, and more.”

Clear Eyes takes 10 guests with eight crew. There are five cabins onboard, and two of them are separated by a divider that can be removed to create a large, individual suite.
“It’s a great feature because it means the yacht can essentially have two master-sized suites,” Robertson says. “I’m really looking forward to seeing the layout in person, as it sounds like an ideal yacht for couples to charter together in some terrific locations.”
Clear Eyes is offered at a lowest weekly base rate of €75,000. Contact Robertson today to book a week aboard during the upcoming 19-month world cruise.
