News From the Genoa Charter Show!
Seventy motor and sailing yachts were on display for brokers' inspection at the recent charter show in Genoa, Italy (May 2 - 6). Some were brand new and some were refit and have recently reentered the charter market. Our charter specialist Gina Robertson picks her favorites:


Among the new and notables:

PARSIFAL IIIS/Y PARSIFAL III, 177' (54 m), Perini Navi ketch (2005). 12 guests. Absolutely stunning interior of ebony wood contrasting with white leather. Plunge pool and teppanyaki grill on the sun deck. Wi-Fi throughout keeps you connected to the real world, wherever you may be. Caribbean, East & West Med. from 178,000 Euros/week.

SEVEN SINSM/Y SEVEN SINS, 135' (41.3 m) is the latest launch from Holland's Heesen yard (2005). 10 guests. Lovely Asian-inspired décor features rare Belgian marble, Rosa teak and Makasar wood. Three outdoor dining areas. A Klafs Sanarium offers a choice of sauna, tropical bath, soft steam bath, herbal or warm air bath. Caribbean & Western Med. from 95,000 Euros/week.

FOUR WISHESM/Y FOUR WISHES, This 144' (43.9 m) Palmer Johnson launched late 2004 was a favorite among brokers. 10 guests. Her decor has an Oriental flair, and her crew has designed a fantastic children's program. Caribbean & Western Med. from $130,000/week.

M/S AWOL AGAINM/S AWOL AGAIN, 90' (27.3 m) launched late in 2004 is a new Turkish-built motor sailer. 8 guests. Her voluminous, traditional mahogany interior features two master staterooms,and the latest electronics. Caribbean, East & West Med. from 23,100 Euros/week.


Ready for a second life in the charter market, these recent refits deserve another look:

S/S DELPHINES/S DELPHINE, 258' (78.5 m). This classic motor yacht built for Horace & Anna Dodge in the 1920's was immaculately restored and still runs on her original steam engines. 26 overnight guests (200 for parties) can
indulge themselves in the luxuries of a bygone, gentile era with all the modern conveniences. Features include teak promenade decks, mosaic-tiled Turkish bath, smoking room, two pianos, and an outdoor dining table that seats 36. A full gymnasium, beauty parlor, 4 waverunners and shark-safe seawater jacuzzi are new additions. West Med. year-round from 245,000 Euros/week.


M/Y TITANM/Y TITAN, 198' (60.4 m), originally the Royal Navy ship, the HMS Beagle, has been completely gutted and refitted as a charter yacht for 22 guests. Each spacious stateroom is named after a notable explorer (Charles Darwin, Magellan, Christopher Columbus, Vasco di Gama....). East & West Med. from 320,000 Euros/week.




M/Y INDIAN PRINCESSM/Y INDIAN PRINCESS, 181' (55.2 m.) Sterling yacht widely known as the former Southern Cross III, has re-emerged on the charter market with a new owner and an interior refit. 12 guests. Individually themed staterooms. Two-level main salon is a great venue for parties up to 150 guests. Features a helipad, enclosed gym on the sun deck, a piano once owned by Lily Langtree and original art by Dufy, Matisse, Chagall, Renoir and Picasso. Her famous twin statues remain on the aft deck. West Med. summer, India/Thailand/Maldives this winter from $231,000/week.
